Based out of Cincinnati, the music of Souse is a blend of infectious melodies, layered rhythms and open improvisational passages. While most of the material is original, Souse pays homage to its influences with original arrangements of compositions by Freddie Hubbard, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Billy Cobham and others. Other influences include: Eddie Harris, Grant Green, Spyro Gyra, Stanley Clarke, Weather Report, The Yellow Jackets, George Benson, and The Mahavishnu Orchestra to name a few.
